About Our Organization
RESTORATION DIVERSION SERVICES is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Compton, CA, that was established in 2009. We are dedicated to helping individuals escape and recover from human trafficking—particularly sex trafficking—by supporting them in rebuilding lives of dignity and resilience.
Our Early Efforts
Our organization began with street outreach on Long Beach Boulevard and partnerships with local police on “sweeps.” These early efforts underscored the need for a broader range of services to create lasting change, leading RDS to develop:
- Court-Approved Human Trafficking Diversion Program
- Temporary Shelter
- Long-Term Housing
- Comprehensive Support Services
Essential Resources
RDS has since made a significant impact on the community by providing immediate, essential resources, such as:
- Condoms
- Food
- Clothing
- Hygiene Products
- Self-Defense Tools
- Showers
These resources help young women in crisis stabilize their lives.
Find the Support You Need
With a deep understanding of trauma, RDS adopts a holistic, trauma-informed approach. Skilled case managers provide personalized support, connecting survivors to crucial resources, including housing, medical care, legal aid, and counseling.
For survivors seeking justice, RDS collaborates with the Compton District Attorney’s Office and the California Victim Compensation Board (CalVCB) to help them navigate legal challenges. RDS also extends vital support to individuals escaping domestic violence and creates safe spaces that promote healing and recovery.

Collaborative Approach
Our mission reaches beyond individual support to encompass community-wide initiatives. To address human trafficking on multiple levels, we work closely with:
- Local Law Enforcement
- Political Organizations
- Faith-Based Groups
- Anti-Human Trafficking Agencies
- Shelters
- Local Businesses
We have also partnered with Compton College to establish educational pathways for survivors and support their academic and career development. We assist them with enrollment and help them access financial aid and additional resources.
This collaborative approach advances justice, informs policy change, and strengthens protections for survivors. Through compassionate, trauma-informed services, RDS fosters a strong sense of sisterhood and community, creating an environment that disrupts cycles of exploitation and enables survivors to build independent lives.

Drop-In Center
At the heart of RDS’s mission is the drop-in center—a place of hope where individuals leaving street life find empathy, support, and practical resources to build brighter futures. Survivors are warmly welcomed and empowered as they journey toward autonomy, resilience, and stability. With our unwavering dedication, we help each person reclaim their life and pursue a future free from exploitation.
